About This Recipe

Natural sweetness of dates, apple and raisins, acts as a natural sweetening agent and hence you will not feel the need to add sugar to this recipe.

Fruits add a fresh and flavouurful touch to the desserts and sweets. Also, they are a great choice if you want to give a twist to the traditional Indian Desserts. Tips & Tricks

  • Grate apples only when you are ready for cooking. Do not grate and keep in advance.
  • It is very important to cook apples with ghee. Make sure all the moisture evaporates and apples are cooked well, otherwise milk will curdle.
  • When you combine apples and dates+milk mixture, make sure both the mixtures are at room temperature. If either of the mixtures is hot,  it will curdle the milk and the kheer will get spoilt.
  • You can saute apples in ghee and keep in refrigerator as well.
  • You can also add chopped nuts to this kheer to make it more filling and add extra crunch.
  • Apples and cinnamon go very well, so if would like to flavor this kheer, then try pinch of cinnamon powder.
