Mogri, also known as Moongre or Radish pods is a vegetable from the Radish family. This vegetable is available during winter season. They come in green, purple, reddish or bluish colours. It is crunchier in bite, and can be eaten raw as well as cooked, It has a pungent taste, similar to that of a radish.
This is a simple and crunchy stir fry  recipe, prepared with cabbage, mogri & pomegranate seeds. A colourful, healthy and tasty dish which can be served as a side dish alongwith parathas/theplas or pulao.
Serve this dish hot or warm as an accompaniment or side dish along with Parathas/Theplas or Vegetable Pulao. You can try this crunchy stir fry with our recipes like Cabbage Onion Paratha or Methi Thepla.
Cabbage and Mogri Stir Fry

Ingredients (1 cup = 240 ml)
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- ¼ cup mogri chopped
- ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
- 1 teaspoon oil
- 1 broken dry red chili deseeded
- ¼ teaspoon mustard seeds/rai
- ¼ teaspoon jeera/cumin seeds
- a pinch of asafoetida/hing
- 1 green chili - cut into 2 pieces/finely chopped
- ¼ teaspoon coriander powder/dhania powder
- ¼ teaspoon jeera/cumin powder
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add dry red chilli and mustard seeds.
- When seeds crackle, add cumin seeds, hing, green chillies and shredded cabbage. Mix well and sauté on a medium flame for about a minute.
- Now add mogri, jeera powder, dhaniya powder and salt. Mix well and sauté for another minute.
- Switch off the flame and add pomegranate seeds. Give a quick stir.
- Serve hot or warm. Enjoy with your favourite parathas/theplas.
