This is for all the chai lovers. You want to make masala tea, but what if you don’t have chai masala handy. Do not worry, with this simple and easy tea recipe, you won’t need the tea masala anymore. So, no suspense anymore – instead of using tea masala, we have used whole spices and boiled them in water. By doing so, you will get the same aroma and fresh flavours of all the spices in your tea.

The quantity of sugar and tea powder can be adjusted according to your taste and preference. In fact, you can even adjust the spices as per the flavours you like the most. For instance, if you like ginger flavoured tea, then you may increase the quantity of ginger and reduce other spices – choice is completely yours.

Masala Tea | Indian Masala Chai Recipe

Ingredients (1 cup = 240 ml)
- 1 teaspoon tea powder
- 1 cup water
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- ½ cup milk
- 1 clove
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 1 cardamom
- small piece of ginger chopped
Instructions
- Take water in a pan and add cardamom, cinnamon stick, clove, chopped ginger and boil for 2-3 minutes. You will get a nice aroma and flavour.
- Now add tea powder and sugar and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Add milk and bring to a boil.
- Switch off the flame and filter the prepared tea through strainer.
- Enjoy hot Masala Chai with your favourite snacks or biscuits.
