No Yeast Whole Wheat Donuts Recipe with step by step photos | eggless, fried doughnuts – learn how to make homemade donuts from scratch without yeast with our step wise process

You can enjoy these donuts guilt-free since these are prepared from whole wheat flour. Doughnuts are loved by all. Plus the most interesting part about making donuts is decorating them in the way you want. You can involve kids in doing this and they will be more than happy to assist in this one.

We have decorated the donuts with melted chocolate and brown sugar+cinnamon sprinkle. You can top the donuts in the way you want.

Usually doughnuts are prepared from maida and has yeast added to it. But, these donuts are:

  • eggless
  • without yeast
  • prepared from wheat flour

Why do donuts get hard?

Donuts may turn hard if you fry them on a low flame or fry for too long. For frying doughnuts :

  • Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan. Reduce the flame to medium and immerse donuts in oil. After about a minute, donuts will float on top, then flip them.
  • Cook till donuts are golden in colour. Drain on paper towel. Fry in batches.

No Yeast Donuts

Usually yeast is added to doughnuts dough/batter so we get fluffy donuts. But in this recipe we have used baking soda and baking powder instead of yeast. Both these agents will help to make our donuts  fluffy.
