About This Recipe

This is a very easy way to store and preserve amla juice. It also saves a lot of time in the morning when we are in a hurry, just take out required portion, let it come to room temperature and enjoy your dose of amla juice.

Health Benefits of Amla (Gooseberry)

Amla (or Gooseberry) is a powerhouse of nutrients and daily intake of amla or amla juice benefits us in a lot of ways. Apart from being packed with Vitamin C, amla also contains Vitamin A and E.

Amla is rich in antioxidants. It is also considered very great for your skin, hair and eyes.

Shelf Life of Amla Juice

Just follow all the steps and you will be able to preserve and store this juice for upto 1 year.

How to make Amla Juice ?

Wash and dry the amla. Peel off black marks. Cut the Amla in small pieces and discard the seeds.

You can either prepare the juice in mixer grinder or juicer.

If you are using mixer grinder, take the pieces in mixer grinder and blend. For juicer, simply put amla pieces in the juicer and extract amla juice.

Strain the juice through a muslin cloth.

Serving Suggestions

You can consume this juice plain on an empty stomach in the morning.

If you don’t like the taste, then you can add water and then drink.

You can also mix little ginger juice or lemon juice or any other fresh juice with amla juice.

For the seasonings, you can add salt, black pepper powder, black salt or any other spice powder you prefer.

How to store and preserve amla juice ?

Pour juice in a big tray and keep in freezer section of refrigerator for 3-4 hours. After 3-4 hours, this will be semi-set. Take the tray out and cut into small cubes with a knife. Again keep the tray in freezer for 6-8 hours or till completely set. Once set, remove and store these cubes in an air-tight container in freezer section.

You can even use ice trays to set your amla juice.

How to use stored amla juice ?

Remove only that much cubes from freezer that you want to use. Keep at room temperature for about 30 minutes or till it melts completely. Enjoy your juice.

  • If you are using mixer grinder, take the pieces in mixer grinder and blend. For juicer, simply put amla pieces in the juicer and extract amla juice.
