Chocolate Peda | Instant Chocolate Milk Peda Recipe

With just 4 ingredients and 10 minutes, you can make this delectable sweet. Yes, you heard it right, these pedas are very much easy-to-make and plus gets ready quickly. The only thing to be kept in mind while making pedas, is not to overcook them, otherwise pedas will be chewy. We are sharing a few tips that you should keep in mind while making pedas.

Some points to keep in mind while making chocolate peda:

  • Cook the mixture on low flame.
  • Do not overcook the mixture. Just when you see that the mixture has started leaving the sides of the pan and has begun to thicken, switch off the flame.
  • The pedas will be sticky on the day you prepare them, especially for the first 3-4 hours. They will taste best and achieve the required texture the next day.
  • Peda stays good at room temperature for 2-3 days. But if the whether is humid, we suggest to shift them to refrigerator on the end of Day 2. You can store them in refrigerator for 4-5 days. Just before serving, keep the pedas at room temperature for about 30 minutes and then serve.

Ingredients (1 cup = 240 ml) 

US Customary - Metric
  • 3/4 cup milk powder
  • 1.5 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1.5 teaspoon ghee + ghee for greasing hands before shaping pedas
  • mixed chopped nuts for the garnish

Instructions
 

  • Heat a non-stick pan on a low flame. Add 1 teaspoon ghee, condensed milk, milk powder and cocoa powder.
  • Keep stirring the mixture and cook till the mixture thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  • Switch off the flame and add ½ teaspoon ghee and mix.
  • Let the mixture cool for about 3-4 minutes.
  • Grease your hands with ghee and make small round balls.
  • Make small hole in the centre using your thumb and fill it with chopped mixed chopped nuts.
  • Enjoyyy these yummy pedas.
