Chop coconut into cubes—no need to chop them very small. You can even grate the coconut.
Put it in a large steel or glass container. Use any freezer-safe big-sized container. Cover with a lid.
Place it in the freezer section of the refrigerator. Use as required. Do not defrost the whole quantity. Take out as much quantity as needed.
How to use frozen coconut
Take out the required quantity from the freezer in a bowl. Add hot water, cover it, and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, drain the water and spread on a kitchen towel to dry. Use as required.
You can also keep the coconut cubes at room temperature for about 30-40 minutes.
